Seasonal Global Warming Outtake

You can see how bad the pond is here covered in red algae which I have never seen there other years. And it is only about ankle deep. The lilies are all leaf this year. I suppose that is because the water would normally come up higher and they would be half under water.

how sad what we are doing to mother earth. we have these purple flowers that are taking over everything, a weed that no one can get rid of. it is overtaking the brooks and streams...

Sounds like purple loosestrife. I had a job with the Wildlife commission doing phragmites and loosestrife remediation. They are impossible to get rid of even if you dig them out--a small piece of root remaining is all it needs to grown again.
