HIGH KEY Intake

This is from the same tree (could even be the same pic) as the flowering cherry blossom picture I posted on BP the other day. I highlighted the background and turned it white. Then went back over the edges with a soft brush.

Cherry Blossom Reworked

I followed Mary's suggestion about using the eraser at low opacity on the edges but it left a pale blue instead of white behind it. So I used a white brush at low opacity. Thanks for the suggestion Mary. An improvement I think. I didn't want to take it any further in.

LOW KEY INTAKE

A flag growing around the lake. When I get around to it I will post a non low key version of this to BP or/and to seasonal Photique. I guess I am not certain as towhether this is a low key shot but it is certainly not high key.

Carla said high key is also bright saturated colors. So--is this high key? Even with the darkness?I don't know.

I loved the circles and lines, but ironically, this was painted a nice flat black and I took it as a low key image and my flash washed it out so bad it looks white! Aiee!

Here is an example of leaves in the wind. It is the one that I had in mind but after going back to it today I see that it has intentional camera movement which was not what I intended but let us say that this is acceptable so long as it actually looks like wind! Long time to go on this anyway but thought I'd send it while I just was visitng Goshka's gallery.

No intentional camera movement here. It was so windy that day I just put it on 1/30th sec.

It was windy on this day but I emphasised it by intentional camera movement up and down. Just keep your finger on the button and take as many as you can and throw most of them away. It is simply luck although I do find I prefer the up/down movement to any other - take that whichever way you like!

We were caught up in this National Laser SP3 series race going on off of West Mersea last Sunday. This was the race that we watched the prize giving in the hope that Charlotte and her colleague would meet up with eligible bachelors!

So this was taken from our boat. I took some of the same race 2 years ago just after I had my camera and hadn't realised that on full zoom hand held I needed a minimum speed of 400 so I was quite please to get another go at it. It is very hard to compose a shot when your own boat is going up and down. Also it is impossible to get a straight horizon so always means a bit of straightening.
