I know it is not easy to get good shots of birds at feeders Val. I have never had a lot of success but I think my best ones have been with a tripod if I have to use a long lens. So all in all I think this is not a bad shot.
I am fascinated with those seeds though. I forget what they are called but I bought some and put them in a bird feeder with tiny holes just like that one and no-one ever ate anything from it. So I do not use it now.

I find feeder shots hard, too!!! I rarely get any good ones. So good work here. You got some excellent detail. The one thing that is good to get if you can is the eye. Mary :-)

yup the eye was what I was after, the seed is called "niger" and only these little birds, finches, eat them. No other bird.... I took lots of shots of this bird and this was the best becoz of the eye.

Niger yes, that is what I bought. We have plenty of little finches and tits but for some reason they did not like my Niger.
