Adjusting the the square and plumb using guidelines and skew

Adjusting the the square and plumb using guidelines and skew, by Mary Stebbins. I added vertical and horizontal guidelines and then used transform--> skew to straighten the picture. Then under view, hit clear guides. THe picture needs to be recropped after this operarion (or cloned becase of the white triangles.) Click on image to view larger. Posted by Picasa

I actually had a go at this with a different pic Mary. It is far simpler than I thought. But unless there is another way I found that you had to create a duplicate layer in order to use the transform skew option.
Having come back to this now I realise I didn't use the guidelines having never come across them before. I just did it with my eye. But next time will look for guidelines.
I will come back to this one day but have such a backlog of stuff at the moment.

You're right, I forgot to mention that step because the FIRST thing I LAWAYS do is make a dublicae layer before I do anything else--and work on the duplicate layer rather thant the orginal one.

After adding the guides, there's a clear guides thig that just takes them away again, otherwise, they're distracting.

I often eyeball things, but my eyeballs aren't always accurate, I've discovered. Not too bad, but imperfect, soemtimes.
